Sony Xperia T2 Ultra

There will always be a trade-off when considering purchasing a large-screen smart phone : You will get to enjoy yourself with the advantages of having a big display screen when , for example , viewing videos , but the smart phone can not accommodate quite comfortably into your pocket , nor offers a good grip considering the fact that it is bigger than the average palm . Sony’s latest release , the Xperia T2 Ultra , however , resolves such challenges .

The smart phone , which comes along with a mid-range price label , has a large screen but is merely 7 .6mm thick . It is more comfortable to carry and can be easily kept in a purse or the pocket of a jacket . Its slimness enables users to hold it without being worried that they might drop it .

Powered by a Snapdragon quad-core 1 .4GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board storage , loading apps is smooth with minimum likelihood of the smart phone lagging .

The 6-inch High-definition Triluminos display offers a much better experience when enjoying videos or viewing photos when it comes to brightness and sharpness , an upgrade from earlier Sony smart phone releases . However , it is not suitable for viewing under direct sun light — it has to be tilted a little bit for better exposure .

The bigger screen is great for watching YouTube videos . Clearly there was no need to hold the phone up close as with smaller devices .

Smart phone photography is easy with the Xperia T2 Ultra , as users will no longer have to keep a whole folder of third-party applications for editing pictures : The phone’s camera app has numerous in built photo editing apps for example portrait retouch , background defocus and sweep panorama .

But while the 13-megapixel backside camera shoots good photos thanks to the in-built apps , the 1 .1-megapixel front camera will disappoint selfie lovers as it makes images appear noisy , especially in dark-lit areas .

Besides the camera app , Sony has installed some of its own unique apps , like the Walkman music-player app and a movie-editing app . These apps are easy to use and with a few simple clicks and swipes , you are actually good to go .

Like most of its predecessors , the Xperia’s style catches the eye with its sleek design . There were times during assessment when people asked what the phone model was when it was used in public .

The T2 Ultra comes along with an embedded 3 ,000mAH battery and the phone can stay alive a whole day’s use even with 4G data usage . It also comes with battery STAMINA mode , which automatically turns off features to preserve power when apps are left unattended .

The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is designed to make customers more than just contactable : Its slim and sleek design and excellent battery life make it a better option for those who look for entertainment on the go .

It is currently available at S$598 . The smart phone is available in a dual-SIM version , the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual , which retails at S$548 .
